If you have long curly hair that touches your shoulders, or even longer, that hair can be several years old and most likely needs more TLC.
You don’t have to shampoo every time you shower…. never skip conditioner but it is ok to skip the shampoo. Shampoo removes dirt but it can also remove natural oils that keep strands soft and healthy. Because curly strands are drier than straight hair strands, oils can’t travel down the spirals as easily.
Hair that falls in spirals prevents your scalps natural oils from travelling down your strands and keeping them naturally moisturized. When you do need shampoo, use a smaller amount and only lather up at your scalp and let the suds slide down your curls, washing them as the water rinses the shampoo away.
A good idea is to do a cold water rinse at the end of your shower – this will help your hair grow and it will keep long hair healthy for even longer - just a few seconds will make a huge difference!
