Believe it or not, we can do things without realizing it that can damage your curls. We all have bad habits, but there are some that are especially bad for your hair. More habits that are harming your curls

You're brushing your curls:

If you're still brushing your curls, it's time to reevaluate. While brushing might seem like an easy way to detangle your curls, it might actually be causing more damage than it's worth. Brushes can tear through delicate strands, and they also disrupt your natural curl pattern. Instead of a brush, opt to style your curls using your fingers or a comb.

You frequently touch your hair:

It's really tough to keep your hands out of your strands. However, in order to keep your curls from damage, that's exactly what you need to do. Brushing your hands through your strands can cause your curls to fall flat, put oils from your hands on your strands, and cause your hair to become frizzy. Therefore, you'll need to think about keeping your hands out of your curls are much as possible, especially while your strands are drying.

You aren't protecting your strands overnight:

One of the most important things to do is to protect your curls overnight. Before bed, make sure you're putting your hair in a protective style like a pineapple, use a bonnet or cap, or consider getting a silk or satin pillowcase. This will allow your curls to be protected overnight, and make sure your strands aren't damaged while you sleep.

You're washing your hair too much:

No one likes flat, greasy strands. However, lathering up every day can actually cause your strands more damage. Therefore, you'll need to think about cutting back on washing your strands. Find yourself a great dry shampoo to help you make it through your in between days, and try to cut your washes back to once or twice a week. When you do wash, make sure you're following up with a deep conditioning treatment.

Your products have artificial ingredients:

If your curls are dry, and not working very well, you might want to think about switching out your products for something else. Review your products to see if any of the ingredients are things that might be harmful to your strands, like silicones and parabens. Instead, focus on ingredients that are natural, and therefore moisturizing and healthy for your curls.
